Aluminium Boat Design Process
If you’re looking for something in particular or like a certain model but would like to make changes, we are more than happy to work with you to design and build your own boat. We often have similar aluminium boat designs and just need to modify it to suit your exacting requests.
Getting Started On Your Aluminium Boat Design
To initiate the process, don’t hesitate to reach out to us. You can either give us a call on 1300 548 262, shoot us an email at sales@cncmarine.com.au, or fill out an online inquiry form on the CNC Marine website. In this initial communication, share your thoughts and ideas with us.
Feel free to attach images for inspiration, let us know how many people you’d like to take out on the boat, what the intended purpose for the vessel is or provide a list of your requirements. The more information you provide, the better equipped we will be to understand and prepare for your needs.
Deposit
Following the initial communication and when you have decided you’d like to go ahead with customising an aluminium boat design, the next step in the process involves submitting a 10% deposit or a minimum of $1000 for the design phase. This payment secures your spot in our design pipeline.
Moving Forward
During the next stage, our design team will reach out to you in order to establish a comprehensive plan. During this interaction, they will outline the proposed approach on how to make your own boat, offer suggestions where applicable, and thoroughly discuss your preferences.
This collaborative process aims to create a detailed and tailored design that aligns seamlessly with your vision for your aluminium kit boat. Your input and feedback are valued, ensuring that the design meets your expectations and requirements.
Custom Boat Design Brief
After our discussion and planning phase, we will create a comprehensive boat design plan for you. This document will encapsulate the details of what has been discussed, incorporating visuals such as images that represent the envisioned outcome of your custom boat design.
Additionally, the design brief will encompass pertinent information, including our general terms and conditions. Once this document is prepared, we will present it to you for review and signature. Your confirmation of the design brief signals your approval to proceed, and upon receiving your signed agreement, we will move forward with the next steps in the process.
Boat Design Plan Begins
It is now up to our design team, who is tasked with crafting a full 3D model and tested design for your project. If necessary, they may reach out to ensure your satisfaction with different design elements before proceeding.
Please note that the boat design plan phase may require some time, as each component undergoes meticulous adjustments and movements during this detailed process.
Multiple checks are completed at different stages of the boat design process, checking the boat designs to ensure the safety, usability, buildability, performance, and compliance of vessels.
Design Sign Off
Once CNC Marine is satisfied with the design, you will be supplied with a 3D Viewer and/or a General Arrangement so that you can check the final details and sign off. This is a final opportunity for minor changes to the design before we proceed to create the best aluminium boat kit for you.
Design Process: Cutting Your Pre Cut Aluminium Boat Kit
Once you are satisfied with your vessel’s design, and the design phase has been finalised and approved, the next step is for us to create an aluminium boat flat pack kit. Your kit will undergo CNC router cutting from aluminium sheets and extrusions will be assembled into a bundled kit.
This comprehensive kit will be prepared for delivery to your doorstep, streamlining the process from design approval to the readiness of your materials for construction. A document pack including assembly sequence drawings, weld details, and parts lists among other things will be supplied to you to facilitate in the construction of the final vessel.
Remember, if you can’t find what you need on the Range page, then just contact us. We’d love to see you in your dream boat!
