Nambucca Heads Newest Rescue Boats
Grays Marine’s GM68

The arrival of the new Gray’s Marine GM68 marks a major step forward after years of operational limitations caused by ongoing sand build-up in the Nambucca River.

Built by Gray’s Marine, the 6.8-metre GM68 has been purpose-designed to overcome the challenges of shallow and restricted waterways. With a significantly reduced draft, the vessel can safely operate in conditions that previously limited access, restoring the unit’s ability to respond across both river and offshore environments.

Measuring 6.8 metres in overall length, the GM68 is fitted with twin 150hp Suzuki vertical-lift outboard motors, specialised stabilisers, and advanced safety features. Its design ensures safe, efficient deployment when access and response times are critical.

With the GM68 now in service, Marine Rescue NSW volunteers are better equipped than ever to provide a vital safety presence for the Nambucca community and its visitors.
