Half a Boat, Full of Innovation – CNC Marine at the Perth Boat Show 2025

You could probably hear it in the background of this week’s episode — the buzz of the 2025 Perth Boat Show. The CNC Marine crew were right up front at the entrance, showing off something a little different: half a boat.

Instead of polished paint and shiny fittings, the team brought along the bare bones of a 4210BA Barra, giving visitors an inside look at what goes into a true plate boat build.

“We wanted people to see what’s underneath the paint,” said Marsh. “Full-height frames, perpendicular stringers, proper buoyancy foam — all the things that make a CNC-designed hull stronger and safer.”

The display became a magnet for both curious newcomers and serious builders, sparking conversations about kit design, structure, and fabrication quality. Visitors could see every weld pattern, chine, and etch line that helps builders assemble their kits faster and more accurately.

Show Highlights

  • The 4210BA Barra on display was fitted with a Honda 80HP outboard — the perfect match for its tough 4mm hull and full-frame structure.

  • CNC Marine also showcased the 3810BA, a smaller but equally rugged build that sold within minutes of the show opening.

  • Blue Dog Boats, long-time CNC Marine partners, featured multiple CNC-designed builds across their stand — from compact family boats to serious offshore rigs.

Builder Andre from Blue Dog Boats joined the chat, sharing his thoughts on the 4210BA:

“It’s a weapon of a boat — strong, safe, with heaps of deck space. You can lay it out any way you want.”

Andre also hinted at what’s next for Blue Dog — more small boats, a few bigger projects, and some ambitious new designs already in the CNC Marine pipeline.
